Never been to Vietnam? Ever been to Vietnam? Are there any places that you wish to see or recommend people to see? Why don’t you make your own ranking about tourist spots in Vietnam? It can be invaluable reference to those who will visit this S-shaped country.
Ok, let me start first with my own ranking :

TOP 5 MARINE TOURISM SPOTS IN VIETNAM

5. Tam Coc (Ninh Binh):

Enjoy two hours on the oar boat floating on the river surrounded by beautiful ranges of mountains and green rice field. The atmosphere is fresh and you feel close to nature than ever. You can even participate in rowing the boat (think of how much calories you’ll burn!), which is always warmly welcomed by the boat-rower. Just one thing: prepare little money to tip them and to buy souvenirs on the boat. Not only because the guides are rather persistent (and they are!), but mostly because you can find nice-looking traditional hand-made souvenirs that you can hardly find in town.

4. Phong Nha Grotto (Quang Binh):

Not only a ride on the boat like Tam Coc, but you also enjoy the atmosphere inside a grotto. The diesel-powered boats don’t need your hand in rowing and let you enjoy a stunning landscape, before entering a refreshingly humid cave that you will visit by foot. At this very moment, the engines of the boats shut down and the silence invades you, only disturbed by the lapping of the water echoing on the cave’s walls. The boat reaches the ground and you start your visit of the grotto, walking on a sandy soil. Amazing! If you forgot your camera, don’t worry: there are some professional photographers that will offer some shots of you for a rather decent price.

3. Mekong River Delta:

Can’t miss a trip on the longest river in Vietnam to see floating market (tropical fruits are waiting for you), houses nearby the river, local villages, national parks and nature reserves. Some tours include traveling through several provinces that share Mekong River Delta or even to the neighboring country-Cambodia.

2. Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa):

With its great variety of seafood, aquariums, cheap tours on submarines to see creatures “under the sea”, no wonder Nha Trang is called “sea city”. If you’re looking for a paradise with white sand, blue sea and sunshine, think of Nha Trang with a lot of resorts by the beaches. The most popular is VinPearl, which has been developed recently. Nha Trang is also home to welcome several Beauty Contests (upcoming one is MISS UNIVERSE® 2008 Pageant).

1. Ha Long Bay(Quang Binh):

The famous World Heritage really deserves its honor. Once on a boat, you will have the feeling of entering a totally different world, where nature is the strongest: who could beat those majestic rocks that contemplate thousands of years of History?
You will also eat fresh food on the boat and at one stop at a fishing village, you will be invited to buy fresh seafood to a local provider. The only drawback is the cost of the seafood, quite expensive for Vietnam. Thereafter, the comfortable boat will lead you to a grotto where a sumptuous play of lights adds colors to the natural walls. And the guide will make you play a funny game: have you ever look at clouds in the sky, to compare their shapes to real objects, animals or humans you know? In grottos of Ha Long Bay, visitors do it with the many natural shapes on the walls, stalactites and stalagmites: with a little imagination, elephants, lions or even fighting cocks will appear to you.

Visit Ha Long Bay is an experience that you should live at least once in your life. And interestingly, despite the presence of many tourists, you don’t feel like going in a touristy place at all. This is a part of the magic of Ha Long Bay…

What is your ranking? Do you share mine? Please let us know your opinion and feelings about these wonderful spots!

I would rank Tam Coc as the best one, really. Such an experience ! Though it's hard to decide on the ranking...
